HISTORY:
Rus - Eng.
Past : The group targeting production of funky intellectual hip-hop was started sometime early in 1995 in Brooklyn by Mike Mutantoff. The first studio recording took place sometime in Spring of 1995, in Arlette's and Luigi Scapino's studio in Staten Island, New York. 2 tracks were recorded, however, having no capability of producing our own music at that time, pieces of the instrumental phonogram from Dr.Dre's album "Chronic" were used to lay raps over. The result was completely unexpected. People just loved the first version of what now is known as "Gangsta Fairytale" for the originality of the lyrics ( "Nuthing but a G-thang " instrumental was used for that ). That gave the band an immense boost to keep doing what they wanted.
The initial crew was comprised of: Mike, Maria Malyk, Yulchitai, Áóäĺíűé (who tragically died in the subway, the same summer), Arlette Roxburgh (R&B vocals, she is pursuing her own R&B career now, one of her recent projects involves making music for New Jersey Devils NHL club) and Leo (aka Chaos). After recording our album “Uletnii” (a play of two Russian words “summer” and “blown away”) in 2001, a gigantic effort was undertaken by Mike to get some exposure to the tracks recorded, in Russia. Mike is known to get what he wants – so results did not take long : several tracks were featured on a major Russian Hip-Hop compilations released, Mike visited and performed at Adidas Streetball Challenge Festival in Moscow (a major alternative and rap concert event in Russia), a video-klip “Gangsta Fairytale (a Parody on Gangsta Rap)” was shown several times on Russian MTV and finally the “Uletnii” album was released on “Zvezda Records” label in St.Petersburg on May 15th, 2002.
Since that time the band enjoyed an increasing recognition and success and a new album “Not For Amerika” is to be released on a major rap label “S3Tproduction” (Moscow) in May-June 2003.
That album is a compilation of the band’s favorite tracks that were recorded in 2000-2002 period. A new video-klip “Pornuha-Lottereya” (“Porno-Lotto”) was shot recently for Russian MTV in collaboration with Igor Nurgaliev (known for his work with “WU Tang Clan”, “Ruff Ryders”, “DMX” and “Space Girl”).

Present: A new project, album “Trancezit Passenger” was launched on May 2003. The album will
stick to the groovy aspects of our projects, at the same time exploring electronics and rap symbiosis. The current band members :
Mike- currently residing in Philadelphia, Maria Malyk - New Brunswick, NJ, Yulchitai - Brooklyn , NY, DJ Android – Brooklyn, NY.

Future : Goalz and Aspirations : The band is ready to collaborate with any serious, energetic people,
in any music style. Mike Mutantoff and The Killektive are now expanding beyond strictly hip-hop/rap music. They are especially interested in bringing electronic music into the mix with rap elements.
